Queen’s The Miracle from 1989 is a polished late-period album that mixes big rock songs with the band’s more playful pop side. “I Want It All”, “The Miracle”, “Breakthru” and “The Invisible Man” give the record plenty of variety, while Freddie Mercury remains in commanding form throughout. The production is very much of its time, with synths and layered studio effects, but the songs still carry that unmistakable Queen personality. An underrated album with several genuine catalogue highlights.
