Norah Jones’ Come Away with Me from 2002 is a warm, understated mix of jazz, folk, country and soft pop that became a huge success without ever sounding overproduced. “Don’t Know Why”, “Come Away with Me” and “Turn Me On” are the obvious favourites, but the album works best as a complete late-night listen. Jones’ voice is relaxed and intimate throughout, with beautifully restrained arrangements behind her. A timeless, easy-going record that still sounds remarkably fresh more than two decades later.
