New Musik - Anywhere (SA)

New Musik’s second album, Anywhere (1981), takes the bright synth-pop of From A to B and makes it slightly stranger, moodier and more ambitious. Tony Mansfield’s production is immaculate, but there is still something oddly human beneath all the technology. “Luxury”, “While You Wait”, “Areas” and “They All Run After the Carving Knife” are standouts. It never quite became a big commercial success, but Anywhere has aged remarkably well and is arguably New Musik’s most complete album.
