MF Doom - MM... Food (2LP)

MF DOOM’s MM..FOOD from 2004 is one of the most inventive underground hip-hop albums of its era. Built around a playful food concept, it pairs DOOM’s dense wordplay and crooked humour with dusty samples, off-kilter beats and comic-book atmosphere. Tracks such as “Rapp Snitch Knishes”, “Hoe Cakes” and “One Beer” have become cult favourites. Beneath the jokes is a remarkably intricate record, packed with internal rhymes and clever production. Strange, funny and endlessly quotable, it remains a cornerstone of DOOM’s catalogue.
