Metallica - ...And Justice For All
...And Justice for All (1988) is Metallica at their most technical, angry and uncompromising. The songs are longer, darker and more complex, with “Blackened”, “Harvester of Sorrow”, “Dyers Eve” and especially “One” among their finest. Produced by Metallica with Flemming Rasmussen, it was the first full album with Jason Newsted, although the famously buried bass remains part of its strange character. On CD, the dense arrangements really come through. A brutal, ambitious record and one of Metallica’s absolute essentials.
