Lorde - Melodrama

Lorde’s Melodrama from 2017 turns heartbreak, parties and the messy aftermath of a relationship into a smart, tightly made pop album. “Green Light”, “Liability”, “Supercut” and “Perfect Places” move between big electronic hooks and quieter, more exposed moments without losing the flow of the record. The production is polished but still feels personal, and Lorde’s writing catches the awkwardness and intensity of being young remarkably well. A modern pop album with real depth and plenty of replay value.
