Jewel - Spirit

Jewel’s Spirit from 1998 is a warmer, more polished follow-up to Pieces of You, with her folk-pop roots still very much intact. “Hands”, “Down So Long” and “Jupiter” are the obvious highlights, but the album is full of gentle melodies, thoughtful lyrics and that clear, unmistakable voice. It is softer and more produced than her debut without losing the intimacy that made her stand out. A very easy album to settle into, and one of Jewel’s most consistent records.
