Gnarls Barkley’s The Odd Couple from 2008 is a darker, moodier follow-up to St. Elsewhere, but still packed with the mix of soul, funk, pop and oddball production that made them so interesting. CeeLo Green is in great voice throughout, while Danger Mouse keeps the arrangements sharp and unpredictable. “Run”, “Going On” and “Who’s Gonna Save My Soul” are standouts. It is a slightly stranger album than the debut, but one that rewards repeat listens.
