Genesis - Duke (EU)

Genesis’ Duke from 1980 sits right between the band’s progressive rock past and the more direct pop sound that followed. “Turn It On Again”, “Misunderstanding” and “Duchess” are the obvious highlights, but the album works especially well as a full listen, with longer pieces and shorter songs flowing together nicely. Phil Collins is becoming a much stronger presence here, while Tony Banks and Mike Rutherford still give the music plenty of depth. A very solid Genesis album with the best of both eras.
