Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Liverpool
Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s Liverpool from 1986 is heavier and more rock-driven than their debut, but still has that huge Trevor Horn-produced sound. “Rage Hard”, “Warriors of the Wasteland” and “Watching the Wildlife” are the obvious highlights, with guitars pushed further forward without losing the drama and polish the band was known for. It never had quite the impact of Welcome to the Pleasuredome, but there is plenty to enjoy here. A very underrated second album with proper 1980s scale.
