Def Leppard - Diamond Star Halos (2LP)

Def Leppard’s Diamond Star Halos from 2022 finds the band leaning into the glam-rock influences that helped shape them in the first place, while still keeping the polished arena sound they are known for. “Kick”, “Take What You Want” and “Fire It Up” bring plenty of hooks, with Alison Krauss adding a different texture on two tracks. It is glossy, melodic and very deliberately old-school. A solid late-career album that sounds like Def Leppard enjoying being Def Leppard.
