The Trinity Session (1988) is one of those albums where the story is almost as good as the music. Recorded in one night at Toronto’s Church of the Holy Trinity with a single microphone, it has an extraordinary natural, intimate sound. This 2017 Music On Vinyl reissue (MOVLP1070) is a remastered 180-gram double LP in a gatefold sleeve and restores “Blue Moon Revisited” and “Working on a Building”. Margo Timmins’ haunting “Sweet Jane” remains the obvious highlight, for me anyway.
