Julian Gomes - Bruno & The Birds

Julian Gomes’ Bruno & The Birds finds the South African producer working in the deep, soulful house space he does so well, but with enough detail to keep things interesting beyond the dancefloor. Warm keys, understated percussion and carefully placed vocals give the album an easy late-night feel, while the production stays clean without becoming too polished. It is the kind of record that works equally well for focused listening or a relaxed set at home. Smooth, thoughtful and quietly addictive.
