Fat Freddy’s Drop’s Bays from 2015 is a deep, laid-back mix of dub, soul, reggae and electronic grooves, with the band giving the songs plenty of room to breathe. “Slings & Arrows”, “Razor” and “Wairunga Blues” are standouts, but the real pleasure is in the slow build and the way the whole album flows. It is warm, spacious and never rushed. A great late-night listen and a very easy record to keep coming back to.
